Glass Percolator Identification Card: Visual Cues & Listing Checks

Perc names are seller or manufacturer labels, not a universal technical standard. Use visible geometry to narrow the label, then verify it against the exact product listing. Record the seller's term and what you can actually see as separate fields.

ID rule: shape can help you recognize a listing term. It cannot prove airflow, cooling, filtration, durability, glass thickness, joint fit, or included accessories.

Reference and linked IC Glass listings checked October 3, 2026. Prices and stock are intentionally omitted.

Five percolator labels at a glance

Matrix perc

Visible cue: A puck-like or cylindrical section with a dense grid of openings or intersecting slits. Verify the seller label and product photo because construction varies. Shape reference.

Record: The exact seller label, chamber location, and a dated source photo. Do not estimate slit count.

Seller-listed IC Glass example: 8-Inch Matrix Perc Dab Rig. The listing names a matrix percolator, 8-inch height, colored base, and matching bowl; it does not state joint size, glass thickness, or slit count.

Honeycomb perc

Visible cue: A flat horizontal disc densely perforated with small round holes. Shape reference.

Record: Disc count only when the listing states it or an unobstructed view supports it. Keep decorative honeycomb patterns in a separate field.

Seller-listed IC Glass example: Dual-Purpose Nectar Collector Dab Rig. Its listing states a matrix-perc base plus four honeycomb percs.

Disc perc

Visible cue: A flat circular plate. “Disc” is a broad seller label and does not, by itself, identify the hole or slit pattern.

Record: Copy “disc perc” verbatim, then describe only openings visible in the source. Do not relabel it as honeycomb, turbine, or another subtype.

Seller-listed IC Glass example: 6-Inch Dichroic Diamond Recycler. The listing states disc perc, cyclone recycler, and an included 14mm flower bowl, but gives no hole or slot count.

Waffle perc

Visible cue: A disc spanning much of the chamber with a crosshatched or grid opening pattern. Shape reference.

Record: Whether the listing treats it as a separate perc in a multi-perc piece. Do not merge two named percs into one label.

Seller-listed IC Glass example: 11-Inch Clear Glass Recycler. The listing names both matrix and waffle percs and a 14mm IC auto spinner banger; it does not establish stage placement in the title.

Tree perc

Visible cue: A central trunk with multiple narrow arms or branches, typically with openings near the arm ends. Shape reference.

Record: Use the listing's exact term. Record an arm count only when the page states it or every arm is unobstructed.

Seller-listed IC Glass example: 13-Inch Dual-Tone Straight Shooter. The listing states tree perc and an included 14mm matching hook bowl, but does not state an arm count.

Name versus construction

A product name can describe decoration rather than the internal perc. The Fumed Honeycomb Dab Rig uses honeycomb and honeybee language for its visual theme, while the same listing identifies the internal perc as a matrix perc. A title containing “honeycomb” is not enough to catalogue a honeycomb percolator.

30-second listing check

  1. Save the exact source. Copy the product URL, full title, selected variant, SKU, and date checked.
  2. Copy the seller's term. Preserve “matrix,” “disc,” “waffle,” “honeycomb,” or “tree” exactly as written.
  3. Describe only what is visible. Note cylinder, plate, grid, holes, branches, slits, orientation, and chamber location.
  4. Separate combined designs. If a listing names two percs, give each its own entry.
  5. Mark gaps. Use “not stated” for counts, thickness, material grade, joint details, or included pieces that the source does not confirm.
